CampingWe're only about a hundred miles away from Texas' Big Bend Country, which is a great destination for any traveler. Make sure not to miss the world's largest roadrunner, named Paisano Pete, who sits at the gates of the town, welcoming all who enter it.
The fort dates back to westward expansion of the United States, and is one of the original homes of the "Buffalo Soldiers" in the 1860's and 70's. There are still ruins from the camp back then, and some of the officers' buildings and such have been refurbished back to how they looked near the end of the 19th century. Comanche Springs, is the third largest fresh water spring in Texas, and is coveted by all the farmers and ranchers in the area for its clear, clean, and delicious spring water.
